About The Position

Production Operator III is responsible for operating assembly and/or molding machines and performing Quality Inspection Plans to produce quality parts. This role requires inspections of molded/assembly products and packaging of the molded/assembled products as well as troubleshooting, whenever issues may arise. The ideal candidate can work well in teams, has the desire to learn and possesses the attention to detail needed to make quality parts for our customers.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED
  • Must be able to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to remain in stationary position 75% of the time
  • Must be able to move long distances (between work centers) throughout shift.
  • Must be able to operate machinery
  • Must be proficient in the English language.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret product blueprints.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work to successfully accomplish job duties.
  • Experience using measuring devices (gages, calipers, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Machine Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 3 years prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned work centers (Molding and/or Assembly) safely and efficiently, striving to meet established production rate set by Engineering/Finance.
  • Package and label molded components/assemblies.
  • Complete (QIP) Quality Inspection Plan, inspecting product to print and QIP, using required gages and measuring devices to ensure product is acceptable.
  • Completes any additional necessary operational paperwork required to maintain the integrity of the work center.
  • Order and/or stock components, as necessary, including changing out reels in Assembly.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required.
  • May troubleshoot and perform minor repairs (clearing jams, re-start, etc.) to assembly equipment.
  • Stitcher adjustments in Assembly, as needed.
  • May troubleshoot and perform minor adjustments of Molding equipment.
  • Complete mold changes, as needed.
  • Escalate process performance/quality issues to Production Operator IV and Team Leader.
  • Follow direction provided by Team Leader and/or Supervisor of shift/department.
  • Follow company and department guidelines, procedures and policies.
  • Complete all required departmental/site training.
  • Inspect in MRB, when directed to do so.
  • General housekeeping of work area.
  • Follows safety guidelines.
  • Performs other work-related duties, as assigned.
