Position Summary Production Operator I will report to the Plant Manager, or their designate, and is responsible for performing a variety of production tasks to assist with operations in production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Experience in a production/manufacturing setting
  • Communication skills and adaptability to work with co-workers and management efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Operating a forklift
  • Reading and understanding work orders to verify product, packaging, and labeling requirements
  • Completing paperwork / production documents accurately and as directed
  • Operating and adjusting packaging machine as required to meet product requirements
  • Identify calibration tags and ensure they are current
  • Operating a semi-automatic supersack filler
  • Operating an automated stretch wrap machine
  • Operating hi-vac or powered vacuum and scrubber to maintain plant cleanliness
  • Unloading/loading trucks at direction of shipping/receiving supervisor or manufacturing manager
  • Sampling raw materials and finished goods under the direction of manufacturing manager or plant manager
  • General clean-up of production facility, which may include the lunchroom, washroom, as well as trash removal
  • Work in compliance with company safety and operating procedures
  • General shop duties insuring good housekeeping and the organization of the production area
  • Performs other related duties as required.
