About The Position

Wilbert Funeral Services, Inc., a part of Marmon Holdings (backed by Berkshire Hathaway), is seeking a Production Operator I. This role can be assigned to one of three main production departments within the manufacturing facility: Stamping, Assembly, or Finish. The Stamping department focuses on stamping metal burial casket parts using various presses. The Assembly department is responsible for welding and grinding the stamped parts of metal burial caskets. The Finish department involves installing the final components of metal burial caskets, such as beds, mattresses, fabric coverings, hardware, and panels. The Wilbert Group, a leading precast concrete manufacturer, offers a wide range of concrete products for funeral services, building trades, and agriculture. Astral Industries, a division of Wilbert, specializes in manufacturing high-quality steel burial caskets, utilizing advanced processes like electro-mechanical assembly, fabrication, sheet metal forming, stamping, structural welding, and automated powder coating to produce best-in-class products.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a Press Operator
Experience in Welding/Grinding
Experience in Sewing
Experience with Hand Tools

Responsibilities

Perform duties within the assigned production department (Stamping, Assembly, or Finish)
Stamp parts for metal burial caskets using different types of presses (if assigned to Stamping)
Weld and grind stamped parts of metal burial caskets (if assigned to Assembly)
Install finishing parts of metal burial caskets, including bed, mattress, fabric coverings, hardware, and panels (if assigned to Finish)
Operate machinery, small and/or heavy
Lift or move materials, parts, or finished goods
Remain actively signed off on 0-8 production-related jobs within the assigned department
