PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE Position Summary The Production Associate is responsible for the day-to-day task for creating assemblies from shop order reference drawings and work instructions utilizing manual and automated equipment. In addition, this person is responsible to cross train on various production tasks and complete product inspections, equipment setup, cleaning testing and operation. The Production Associate II will be responsible for supporting manufacturing to meet customer deadlines. Applies job skills and company policies and procedures to complete a variety of tasks. Acquiring a working knowledge of product flow and impact of quality. Works on assignments that are routine in nature where limited judgment is required.

  • GED or High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of one year experience in assembly of small parts, preferably in a plastic or medical manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum one year experience in product distribution with a general understanding of shipping and invoice procedures

Responsibilities

  • Supports Journey to Zero Vision by working safely and preventing incidents through submission of safety observations
  • Responsible for overall cleanliness of machine(s) and surrounding work areas
  • Responsible for random visual inspection of individual product and packaged product to ensure that all quality/quantity expectations are being met.
  • Performs line clearance of all parts handling equipment, tubs, and work areas between and during operation runs.
  • Visually and mechanically inspects components and finished goods for leaks to ensure component integrity.
  • Packaging: Provides Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) support by receiving and inspecting incoming parts and records findings in company ERP system.
  • Accurately completes required AES and compliance paperwork for international shipments.
  • Able to invoice and ship distributor and top product orders.
  • Able to accurately complete any necessary tasks for a pick list. Such as, printing, picking, report picking, investigating line history, etc.
  • Able to fully complete a customer order from printing the pick list to shipping the order.
  • Assembles products according to specifications and procedures using manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic techniques with jigs, fixtures, hand tools, ultrasonic welders, pick and place robots, and O-ring installation equipment and other automation.
  • Helps to maintain and service all packaging and ancillary equipment by performing low level maintenance and troubleshooting (i.e.-Stopcock automation in Assembly)
  • Responsible for creating assemblies from shop order reference drawings and work instructions utilizing manual and automated equipment.
  • Supports continuous improvement activities within the department by providing suggestions and supporting changes.
  • Verifies part numbers, colors, visual characteristics, and appropriate dimensional aspects to ensure that parts match the Shop Order information and drawings.
  • Assemble finished goods, sort and de-gate per work instructions and ensure that all parts and products under their care meet the quality standards of the outlined procedures.
  • Reads and interprets work instructions, routers, and drawings to ensure proper assembly line setup and correct part number to shop order relationships.
  • Fulfillment of shop order pick lists and staging, maintains, and ensures component lot traceability and part number conformance (Product Distribution)
  • Accurately receive/move finished goods inventory with zero errors or incomplete move transactions. (Product Distribution)
  • Ablet o identify and understand different tiers and priorities of Nordson parts and customers
  • Able to accurately ship domestic and international orders under $2,500 that require an AES (Product Distribution)
  • Trains new or temporary employees on department equipment or procedures as required.
  • Creates Fault Reports to record product or equipment defects within the company ERP system.
  • Uses resources (user manuals, trainings, standard work, operating procedures, etc.) before entering a fault report or escalating.
  • Able to effectively work in multiple areas of PD daily, based on need.
  • Does not leave work incomplete and ensures a smooth transition of work to the next step in the shipping process, regardless of issues.
  • Has advanced and specialized expertise, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
  • Responsible for creation and verification of proper bag quantities and tub labeling information as specified for each Shop Order.
  • Rotate through multiple stations on a shift to ensure maximum alertness and preparation
  • Calibrate and set up part weigh count scales for bagging operations and tub bag quantity verification
  • Maintains a consistent, positive attitude and approach to adversity and challenges.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
  • Works extended hours, outside of regular shift schedule, as required by operational needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
