Overview: The Fresh Mixing Production Operator has primary responsibility to operate the equipment safely and efficiently within the Fresh Mixing department at the state-of-the-art pet food production facility located in Auburn, Kentucky. This role will report to the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment and/or equivalent military experience, or college degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance to Company’s policies, practices and procedures related to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and the Environment.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area according to established corporate policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Identify food-safety concerns and perform actions appropriate for resolving them.
  • Unload trucks to best accommodate production requirements, customer requirements, and carriers.
  • Follow an established formula for fresh ingredients, as written on formula sheets.
  • Follow consistent batching processes to ensure a constant flow of blended fresh material to the extrusion line.
  • Assist in conducting a daily inventory of all bulk and liquid ingredients, recording bin check, regular bulk inventory, and part bag count inventory.
  • Operate heavy machinery including tote massagers, grinding equipment for fresh meats and ingredients, and/or automated and manual packaging equipment in a safe and efficient manner, according to established Company policies and practices.
  • Dump totes through receiving drag and tote stations, replacing totes in the tote stations as needed.
  • Operate lift trucks (sit and stand), as required.
  • Develop and maintain successful professional working relationships, including good communication practices with relevant production department staff.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory as determined by the Company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
