Overview: The Packaging Production Operator has primary responsibility to operate the equipment safely and efficiently within the Packaging department at the state-of-the-art pet food production facility located in Auburn, Kentucky. This role will report to the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment and/or equivalent military experience, or college degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with the Production Supervisor and/or Team Lead to determine scheduled production runs and associated mixing requirements
  • Perform daily inventory of all dry and fresh ingredients and accurate recording of levels
  • Unloading of trucks including proper receiving and inventory transactions
  • Operate grinding equipment for fresh meats and ingredients
  • Operate the mixing and transfer equipment in a safe and efficient manner, continually monitoring the equipment to ensure proper operation and material levels.
  • Form materials into treats or palatant and loading of trays to appropriate weights
  • Loading of Freeze Dry Chambers in accordance to established practices & SOPs.
  • May perform task in Freeze Dry Packaging as needed
  • Maintain required Product Log Sheets in an accurate and timely manner, according to established practices/SOPs.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory as determined by the Company.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with established corporate policies, practices and health and safety regulations.
  • Develop awareness and understanding of the Company’s policies, practices and procedures related to health and safety, food safety and the environment and commit to personal compliance with same.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
