About The Position

Adhere to all safety/housekeeping requirements within a plant warehouse setting. Use of forklift for timely loading or unloading of finished product and raw materials to/from trucks/railcars, and from the production line. Use of yard truck to move containers in and out of dock. Interpret customer orders so as to pull, stage, load, and check materials in a manner that ensures accurate and timely shipment. Attention to detail, including the recording of shipping data and other results. Troubleshoot and apply basic maintenance skills to help service equipment. Expected to take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision. Assist with inventories as needed. Adaptable to scheduling changes including assignment of overtime, weekend work, etc.

Requirements

  • Able to safely operate a forklift, yardtruck, and other equipment in a manufacturing setting, or have the ability to be trained.
  • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot the forklift to detect issues and maximize operational availability.
  • Ability to interpret verbal instructions and written documents such as customer orders.
  • Ability to apply basic computer skills required for data entry and reporting.
  • Proficiency at accurately recording shipping data.
  • Possess basic maintenance skills needed to help service equipment.
  • Effective and positive teamwork and communication skills needed with all co-workers.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
