About The Position

The Production Operator starts, troubleshoots, and operates manufacturing equipment safely. There are three Production Operator levels (I, II, & III). The level will be determined by experience, ability to assume various roles on the plant floor, and demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and problem-solve machine issues, resulting in efficient cycles and minimal downtime. The Production Operator will operate production equipment, including industrial blenders, in accordance with the established production schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work in a safe manner by following all written and verbally communicated safety rules and procedures.
  • Follow standard work procedures to operate and maintain assigned machine(s).
  • Routinely meet or exceed production output rates per standards.
  • Ensure product meets certain tolerances and specifications.
  • Perform routine inspections per quality standards.
  • Understand production instructions.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork.
  • Inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify problems or defects prior to production to ensure a clean, clear, and safe work environment.
  • Read and follow work orders and formulas to meet production specifications and schedules.
  • Examine materials, ingredients, or products per quality standards.
  • Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, and products per requirements.
  • Add and mix raw materials according to specifications.
  • Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas.
  • Discharge blenders of powder when necessary.
  • Ensure quality and conformity of blended products to meet standards.
  • Ensure equipment is set up, cleaned, sanitized, and operating properly before, after, and between runs.
  • Complete cleaning logs and notify quality control for hygiene testing.
  • Record operational and production data on specified forms/production documents.
  • Report malfunctions to a supervisor and confirm proactive and routine maintenance.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of quality control and operational procedures.
