About The Position

International Paper, Rome Mill, a major pulp and paper producer is seeking its next generation of top operators. We offer rewarding careers which start off as entry level. Production operators start at a rate of $25.02/hr. then increase based on position assigned. Successful operators will have the opportunity to quickly gain new skills and promote into advanced positions. Average annual earning potential within the first year is $50,000+, with top operators earning an average of $90,000+ annually. Applicants may be considered for openings in any of our operations departments. Qualified applicants will be sent an assessment via email which can be completed on a mobile device. Applicants who pass testing will be scheduled for an on-site interview. Personal accountability for working safely Ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise Basic mechanical ability Demonstrate integrity and operate ethically Flexibility in regard to scheduling (weekends, overtime, rotating shifts) Drive for success and advancement within the company Aptitude to learn new skills and seek further work opportunities Wear and maintain all safety equipment properly Operate or work in industrial conditions (may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces) with proper safety training and safety protection All jobs will work a rotating 12 hour DuPont shift schedule. Every 28-day cycle will be as follows: 4 Night Shifts - 3 days off 3 Day Shifts - 1 day off 3 Night Shift - 3 days off 4 Day Shifts - 7 days off Day Shift = 7:00am-7:00pm Night Shift =7:00pm-7:00am Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. Employees will be required to work holidays, overtime and weekends on a regular basis with last minute notification. May be required to change shifts and work off days if necessary. Requirements

  • Minimum high school graduate, GED or equivalent work experience
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Eligible for employment in the U.S.
  • Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
  • Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment
  • Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
  • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification
  • Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
  • Wear required safety equipment

  • Industrial or manufacturing experience preferred
