We are currently seeking general Operators and Assemblers to join our busy St. Clair Shores, Michigan production team.

Requirements

  • No experience necessary.
  • Ability to follow established procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 quality standards and ISO14001.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to assemble, pack, and/or grip and operate hand tools.
  • Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees.
  • Computer literacy skills include the ability to perform basic data entry and to operate visual ‘touch screen’ display panels.
  • Math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks are required.
  • Ability to work effectively with people.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly tasks such as fitting, fastening, and installing parts and components according to work instructions.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Assemble automotive parts, sub-assemblies, in a timely manner to meet production targets.
  • Inspect parts and components for defects or damage before and after assembly.
  • Ensure that all assembled products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Report any quality issues or defects to the Line Leader or Supervisor immediately.
  • Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Perform basic housekeeping to keep area clean and safe.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Line Leader or Supervisor.
  • Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment, such as cleaning and lubricating.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to the maintenance team or Supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address any issues or concerns.
  • Suggest improvements to assembly processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing or 5S programs.
  • Complete production logs and reports accurately and on time.
  • Record any issues, defects, or downtime encountered during the shift.
  • Operate robotic welding systems to perform welding tasks, such as MIG, spot welding, or laser welding, on automotive parts and components.
  • Monitor robotic welding processes to ensure consistent quality and adherence to standards.
  • Inspect welded joints and components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and correct defects, such as cracks, porosity, or incomplete fusion, in welded parts.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address and resolve any welding-related quality issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance on robotic welding systems, such as cleaning, replacing consumables, and checking for wear and tears.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues with robotic welding equipment.
  • Ensure proper alignment and fit-up of parts before welding.
  • Complete production logs and welding reports accurately and on time.
