About The Position

The Production Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining process equipment as well as coordinating work activities with the Facility Operator to ensure production facilities are operating effectively. This role includes operating, monitoring, testing, and maintaining process equipment and safety devices, coordinating work activity with the Facility Control Room Operator, and monitoring the performance of wells and production equipment to maximize recovery. The operator performs daily operational checks of assigned wells and production facilities with minimal supervision, prepares and submits daily reports, records daily gas and/or liquid volume, well pressure, and volume of chemicals used, conducts production tests using established procedures, and may operate production and injection equipment. The operator is also responsible for witnessing purchasers' gauges and tests to ensure accuracy of run tickets, conducting SSV (surface safety valve) testing with State of Alaska representatives, and complying with company and customer policies and procedures. The role supports AES's zero-incident safety culture and requires personal accountability for safe work practices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of related oil field experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications and internet navigation.
  • Experience with operating PLC controlled process equipment and safety systems.
  • Familiar with EPA, ADEC, AOGCC, and OSHA policies.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, test, and maintain process equipment and safety devices.
  • Coordinate work activity with the Facility Control Room Operator and other areas of interface.
  • Monitor the performance of wells and production equipment to maximize recovery.
  • Perform daily operational checks of assigned wells and production facilities with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit daily reports.
  • Record daily gas and/or liquid volume, well pressure, and volume of chemicals used.
  • Conduct production tests using established procedures.
  • May operate production and injection equipment.
  • Witness purchasers' gauges and tests to ensure accuracy of run tickets.
  • Conduct SSV (surface safety valve) testing with State of Alaska representative.
  • Comply with company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture.
