We started with pastries handmade by Lois and Lloyd Martin produced inside of a garage and we have boomed into a multi-facility company where our many products are produced by machines and shipped domestically and internationally. As a member of the Martin’s Family, the Production Operations Intern assists the Plant Management Team with executing projects and daily activities necessary to support the production at Martin’s.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Currently attending an accredited institution pursuing a degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a similar field.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Plant Management Team with executing projects and daily activities necessary to support production.
• Manage materials activity.
• Plan production by releasing work orders and monitoring order execution via reports.
• Assist with shipping processing and documentation.
• Update internal customers with order status as needed.
• Conduct inventory management including cycle counting and BOM audits.
• Pick and issue materials, monitor inventory levels, and coordinate with production schedules.
• Engage in manufacturing engineering project work.
• Review routings for accuracy and make recommendations or implement improvements.
• Perform cost analysis to evaluate different production methods for improvement opportunities.
• Conduct process capability studies to collect data on equipment and process capabilities.
• Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Audit existing procedures.
• Support continuous improvement projects.
