Production Millwright

About the position

Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc. is seeking a Production Millwright for its aluminum end manufacturing plant located in Winchester, VA. This facility operates continuously, 24/7, with employees working 12-hour shifts. The starting pay is $27.41/hour, increasing to $28.78 on June 16, 2025. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, maintaining, and installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical production-related equipment. Additionally, the position includes training for equipment operation and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Follow all plant safety rules & required PPE at all times
• Ensure safe operation practices
• Interest in building and repairing a variety of mechanical systems
• Fabrication for machinery and special items as required
• Repair manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, pumps, piping, and other mechanical equipment
• Comply with all environmental, health, safety and housekeeping programs
• Rebuild production equipment
• Ability to Weld
• Ability to drill and tap holes
• Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications
• Ability to visualize a layout by looking at plans
• Experience in conveyor systems and maintenance of systems
• Ability to remove broken bolts
• Ability to use cutting torches
• Good verbal communication skills
• Ability to work to exacting standards
• Ability to get along with co-workers
• Ability to work at heights or in cramped spaces
• Safety awareness and responsible work attitude
• Mathematical and mechanical ability
• An analytical approach to problem-solving
• Interest in keeping up in the field
• Will include other tasks as necessary for the operation of the department and the plant.

Requirements

• Must have significant experience in operating production machines.
• Mechanical Background.
• Related work experience or technical training/school or technical degrees may be substituted for the required work experience.
• Ability to work a 12 hour shift which may include night shift and weekends.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Nice-to-haves

• Three (3) plus years of experience industrial maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
