The Production Mechanic troubleshoots equipment problems and performs immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment by identifying and providing solutions for problems that occur in equipment and processes. The role involves overhauling and installing new equipment, including programmable logic, refrigeration control, and packaging program equipment. The mechanic rebuilds and fabricates parts as needed or as required, escalating to management if unable or lacking necessary replacements. Regular maintenance is performed while maintaining a clean and safe work area. The mechanic also schedules and conducts preventive maintenance, generates parts requests to ensure adequate inventory, and completes work orders as assigned. Additionally, the role includes performing equipment change-overs and production line set-ups as needed, working flexible shifts if required, including on call, and performing other duties as assigned.
