The position involves leading manufacturing production to ensure a quality product is produced safely, on time for delivery, and within budgeted costs. The role requires driving ongoing Lean methodologies to ensure continuous improvement of performance, safety, and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Leads manufacturing production to ensure a quality product is produced safely, in time for delivery, and within budgeted costs.
  • Drives ongoing Lean methodologies to ensure continuous improvement of performance, safety, and quality.
  • Responsible for safety of operators reporting to him/her as well as any individual in his work area.
  • Responsible for product quality and adheres to processes and methods.
  • Collaborates with ME, QE and KPO to ensure product quality standards are met or exceeded.
  • Delivers outstanding performance in terms of on-time delivery (> 99.5%) and efficiency (> 95%) by leading work groups and support personnel through problem-solving processes.
  • Holds daily production meetings and sets expectations for the day.
  • Coordinates with office staff to provide information on schedule delivery and product status.
  • Maintains information for daily management reports and prepares various other reports as requested.
  • Ensures the cost-effectiveness of the production process.
  • Controls use of raw materials, preventing all unnecessary waste.
  • Schedules and controls utilization of labor, preventing excess hours, downtime, and overtime.
  • Implements and maintains lean processes, problem solving, Kaizen and other quality processes with support personnel.
  • Escalates issues quickly that cannot be resolved efficiently to maintain performance, quality, and safety standards.
  • Leads & motivates work teams in terms of developing their knowledge and ability while challenging and providing motivation to excel.
  • Meets training and development objectives for all work team members in his/her care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or Technical (4-year degree candidates) and 3-5 years of leadership experience in high mix, complex manufacturing environment.
  • Or: Associate's degree, Engineering / technical focus (2-year degree candidates) and 5-15 years leadership experience; clear career progression.
  • Or: Possess heavy manufacturing/supervisory experience (Non-degreed professional candidates) and 5-10 years of experience.
