About The Position

The Production Manager at GAF Statesboro will play a crucial role in ensuring the cost-effective manufacturing of our products while adhering to the highest quality standards and safe work practices. This position is not just about managing production; it’s about fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement. The Production Manager will oversee the production line, applying principles of continuous improvement and promoting participative management techniques to enhance productivity and employee engagement. The Production Manager will be responsible for managing daily production operations through the supervision of production teams. This includes maximizing production efficiency by monitoring key performance indicators such as volume produced, run rates, raw material utilization, yield loss, and downtime. The role requires ensuring that production standards and expectations are clearly communicated and consistently met. Additionally, the Production Manager will provide formal objectives and measurements for plant personnel, engage in machine troubleshooting, conduct efficiency studies, and oversee capital improvements. Training and development of production crews are essential aspects of this role. The Production Manager must ensure that employees are well-trained and committed to meeting production, quality, and safety requirements. Compliance with regulatory agency requirements and environmental permits is also a critical responsibility. The Production Manager will work closely with logistics and purchasing to maintain an appropriate inventory mix while balancing production efficiency and raw material demands. Furthermore, the role involves developing and tracking compliance with production department budgets, guiding production supervision to balance production needs with machine reliability and repair costs. Leadership is a key component of this position. The Production Manager will provide direction to the production department, maintain good employee relations, and work closely with human resources to ensure appropriate staffing levels. Participation in the hiring process is also expected to build a motivated team. The ability to effectively communicate the Bonus Plan to employees is crucial for maximizing participation and performance impact. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, making this a dynamic and engaging role within the organization.
