About The Position

At Sheffield Pharmaceuticals, the home of the original Sheffield Toothpaste, we offer exclusive, quality, branded products to promote wellness and relief to our customers. Our wellness and first aid products include a variety of creams and ointments, nasal products, and toothpaste all made in the USA since 1850. We are currently seeking a Production Manager with experience driving efficient, quality production and leading and developing effective teams in a LEAN Manufacturing environment. This position is for 2nd shift (core hours 3:00 - 11:30 PM with responsibility as needed outside of those hours in order to ensure production, team and company goals are met). We are looking for a strong leader who is passionate about cultivating an environment where teams are motivated and committed to producing quality products. The primary purpose of this role is to be accountable for the operations, process and delivery of product on a designated shift according to key performance indicators such as PPMH, scrap and productivity measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, industrial technology, or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in a LEAN Manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lead high-performing production teams to produce quality results
  • Ability to see the "big picture" and independently exercise good judgment and on-the-fly decision making
  • A sense of urgency and a focus on driving efficient operations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Controlling and driving LEAN production
  • Accountability for owning department culture including safety, quality, and financial performance
  • Provide strategic day-to-day leadership for designated product mix, while developing a skilled and motivated workforce to support achievement of objectives
  • Continuous improvement of manufacturing operations
  • Maximizing productivity through achieving operational goals, managing underperformance, and taking corrective action where necessary
  • Optimization of factory performance and efficiency, ensuring that process flow, manufacturing methods, tooling fixtures and equipment utilization are cost competitive and sustainable
  • Planning and coordinating workflow and establishing production work schedules to meet delivery times and best utilize company productive capacity
  • Ensuring manufacturing departments operate safely and in compliance with regulatory and internal health, safety and environmental program standards and goals including adherence to all environmental and OSHA requirements
  • Providing required training to ensure safety and compliance with S.O.P.'s, DEP, EPA, OSHA, FDA, and cGMP's
  • Achieving operational excellence through a high-performance culture with a strong continuous improvement philosophy and LEAN manufacturing approach
  • Effective department staffing decisions, and team training and development to cultivate high- performing teams
  • Maintaining proper liaison with partners in all departments to foster and maintain a team philosophy and shared objectives
  • Departmental reporting as needed
  • Other assigned tasks as necessary assigned by Management.
