About The Position

The mission of the position is to plan, coordinate and control all production activities in order to meet budget and production targets (e.g. maximize quality and capacity utilization, reduce cost and lead time). Furthermore, the Production Manager initiates and implements action plans for continuous improvement of all production relevant processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of professional experience in production or manufacturing functions, including leadership or 10+ years of production or manufacturing experience, including leadership experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Leadership experience, preferably with functional and disciplinary responsibility for team members
  • Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Visa sponsorship for Continental Employees only

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical field
  • Cross-functional experience (e.g., Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, or CBS)
  • At least 2 years of project management experience
  • Experience working with international teams on production topics and understanding of foreign cultures

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all plant production activities, translating strategy into actionable plans and ensuring achievement of production targets aligned with customer and business expectations.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning, including investments, capacity, headcount, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance of production cost centers.
  • Oversee production operations, including processes, equipment, quality control, internal logistics (semi-finished goods), data acquisition, KPI monitoring (cost, lead time, quality, scrap, waste, energy, OEE), and ESH compliance.
  • Drive performance improvement by implementing central production standards, supporting KPI reporting, and initiating measures to enhance process efficiency, quality, and overall operational excellence using CBS methods.
  • Act as key interface to segment, BU, and divisional functions, supporting cross-functional projects and providing feedback for the continuous development of production, equipment, logistics, and quality standards.
  • Lead, develop, and ensure availability of qualified production staff through training management, coaching, continuous qualification, and close collaboration with HR.
