About The Position

The Production Manager will oversee the day-to-day production activities of the company, ensuring that the Bakery and Topping Department is managed and performing efficiently, effectively, and safely. They will be responsible for meeting company goals and objectives that focus on – Safety, Quality, Cost, Service Levels, and HR. They must have experience in USDA / FDA / and SQF environment.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance as it relates to operational cost models.
  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience of 5 + years.
  • Extensive and diversified background with at least 10 years of related experience.
  • SQF/BRC experience
  • FDA/USDA facilities

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the hiring and training of departmental hourly staff.
  • Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of topping and baking personnel.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
  • Directly responsible for the successful start/stop of shift.
  • Assists in establishing quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the topping efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintains and adheres to all quality programs.
  • Manages all department staff related to the topping and bakery department.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates and follows all business procedures.
  • Implements and follows policies and procedures.
  • Ensure work environments are adequate and safe.
  • Assures that all costs associated with the usage of materials and ingredients is within set standards in bakery and topping department.
  • Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and maintain labor to support forecasts budgets and customer sales to meet financial objectives.
  • Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to team members; for major changes, meets with topping and bakery staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
  • Improves customer satisfaction through policy and procedural changes that reduce customer complaints.
  • Collaboration in the coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, technology, quality and customer service to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
  • Responsible for supporting R&D and Sales samples.
  • Assists in the development of pricing.
  • Provides training to staff as needed.
  • Develops and improves programs that assures Food Safety and Maintains results to acceptable levels.
  • Is responsible for the development and adherence to budgets in all areas.
  • Maintains and leads all safety programs.
  • Communicates in a timely manner with maintenance personnel on any repairs needed.
  • Leads by example and conducts themselves in a professional manner, is punctual to all meetings and meets commitments
  • Maintains a highly effective work environment that focuses on employee development and positive work environment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
