About The Position

The Production Manager leads print and mail operations across large format, press, bindery, mail, and fulfillment departments—ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery of complex, high-volume campaigns. This role drives continuous improvement, champions the adoption of new technologies, and fosters cross-functional collaboration with estimating, scheduling, procurement, and client services teams. You’ll oversee a large-scale, multi-shift print and mail environment producing offset, digital, large format, and hybrid campaigns—all while upholding DCG ONE’s commitment to precision, reliability, and environmental responsibility. Requirements

  • 7+ years of production management experience in commercial printing, packing, or direct mail.
  • Strong understanding of offset and digital press operations, bindery, and mailing logistics.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-shift teams and manage high-volume, deadline-driven production.
  • Experience with ERP/MIS systems (e.g., EFI Pace, PrintVis, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage operations for production and quality.
  • Coordinate activities through the planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Evaluate, train, mentor, and provide guidance to employees.
  • Correct employee performance when necessary, following company discipline guidelines.
  • Directly manages the offset press room.
  • Manage leadership of web press team.
  • Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
  • Establish and monitor departmental performance for production and quality standards.
  • Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
  • Maintain facilities and equipment; replace or adjust plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
  • Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
