About The Position

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manage inventory balances, ensuring accurate perpetual records, appropriate use of ERP systems, ongoing cycle counting, and use of MRP and other techniques to optimize balances. Ensure monthly closing processes achieve accurate cut-offs. Ensure adequate financial and physical controls of inventory. Investigate plant performance variances; work with plant personnel to develop and implement improvements. Analyze trend information in all inventory transactions not limited to scrap, slow moving inventory and WIP. Participate in the development of plant Key Operating Indicators and oversee regular reporting and the development of responses, as necessary, to performance shortfalls. Recommend controls by identifying problems, writing improved procedures. Daily interact with Operations personnel and ensure operations reporting effectively translates to financials. Responsible for on-time deliveries of all orders at the lowest cost and ensuring scope of customer expectations have been met. Responsible to ensure a safe work environment for all production employees and work with the HSE Manager regarding complications and/or proposed improvements. Evaluate and review shop inspections/investigations, including shop environment equipment and HSE incidents. Monitor the correction process of deficiencies are completed in a timely manner and maintain records and documentation accordingly. Responsible to ensure Leads have organization and housekeeping practices. Responsible for directing (directly or indirectly) all activities in the Winding, Finishing and Fittings department. Evaluate shop resource requirements as workloads fluctuate, participate in regular resource planning discussions to review resource requirements and actions necessary. Implement shift changes when required such 4 vs. 5 days and/or a night shift. Uphold continuity between day/night shifts. Support employee timecard approval process in Kronos time keeping system. In addition, utilize the Kronos for employee attendance evaluation. Responsible to recruit, conduct evaluations/promotions, recognition, and disciplinary requirements of employees. Conduct training and coaching for employees in new work roles/tasks, safety procedures, and company policies. Responsible for planning/scheduling an efficient flow of work through manufacturing processes. Assist with technical problems encountered as needed and Interface with all levels of the company to ensure production objectives are met. Nurture a culture that’s team oriented, employees are valued, trust and accountable. Employees are working towards the same goal with focus on collective results. Promotes effective communication with internal and external organizations and customers. Ensure business objectives are clearly communicated, understood, and administered by employees. Evaluate systems and processes in place for optimization and efficiencies, implement improvements and changes as required or deemed necessary. Implement and execute operational controls, policies, and procedures, such as safe working practices and job hazard analysis as appropriate to specific work tasks. Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures, and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety and environmental requirements. Ensure area processes are compliant with the Quality Management System; work in accordance with QA team to improve processes throughout department as required or viewed necessary. Submit all non-conformances to QA in a timely manner. Shop maintenance: work in accordance with Maintenance Team to develop optimal program for shop efficiencies including Inspection, repairs, installs, and preventative maintenance. Emergency Response: Activities related to responding to an emergency - examples include incident-command positions, organizing evacuations, aiding such as first aid, notifying resource agencies, spill, or gas release mitigation, etc. Required to always wear company uniform; personal, protective equipment (PPE), to include, but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, safety shoes, and hardhats. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business or Engineering) preferred.
  • 10 years of manufacturing operations experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial / supervisory role.
  • Advanced understanding of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
  • High-energy, self-directed problem solver, with a strong bias for action / decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, energize and mentor a diverse group of employees / department, to achieve common goals, meet delivery schedule(s), and desired results in a professional and compliant manner.
  • Committed to self and team improvement through shared academic study, and practical deployment of manufacturing best practices globally.
  • Acutely aware of, but unafraid of risk.
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and run to the opportunities that facilitate measurable gains in conversion efficiency.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (intermediate Excel skills), with advanced systems integration.
  • Experience and understanding of MRP System.
  • Ability to review drawings, process routers, or procedures to identify and drive opportunities for quality and cost improvements.
