About The Position

The Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a shift. It develops and implements production standards that will globally improve efficiency of operations in the press, corn and chip departments through effective implementation of service to sales, cost reduction, inventory, safety, GMP and Quality program procedures. #zr   They will serve as a liaison between upper management and line employees, ensuring that all activities are conducted in compliance with internal and external regulations.   Must be familiar with the quality system requirements of the plant. Ensure that all activities of the process are conducted within the specifications. Responsible for verifying and control that Flour/Corn production KPI’s (Yield, Waste, Overweight, Efficiency, Labor, etc.) are within or better than budget. Serve as a liaison between management and line employees. Ensure that all duties are performed following GMPs. Responsible for communicating the production schedules to the Supervisors/Leads. Report any discrepancy in the documentation (work instructions, charts, forms, etc.) Responsible of the revision of the training needs and for the training for the Supervisors and employees in the different areas, and to keep records. (AIB, training, Safety, etc.) Responsible for Department safety. Resolve process problems. Perform safety and sanitation inspections and keep records. Resolve problems between employees and document any disciplinary actions. Controls budget through reduction and control of overtime and manages receiving budget within operational procedures. Participates with Safety, Sanitation, Quality and new products Committees & actively participates in the HACCP Team, responsible for but not limited to Internal auditing, training, implementation, and corrective actions. Verifies GMP’s and Safety standards are maintained at all times and act and/or follow-up when deficiencies are noted. Consistently apply company rules per employee handbook and company policies (i.e. attendance, safety, etc.) and ensure safety regulations, policies and procedures are followed. Ensures compliance with the HACCP program and AIB gold standard. Ensures all food safety principles and legal requirements have been applied effectively. Other duties, as assigned.   EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing management, Engineering, Business, or related field required. 5 years of production experience required in a manufacturing environment. Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred. With a minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory/managerial capacity required in a manufacturing environment. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Experience in manufacturing management roles with proven track record in leading manufacturing teams to improve continuously the efficiency of production methods and, ultimately, the quality of products.   Experience and exposure to regulatory inspections (AIB, OSHA, MILITARY, Health Dept., EPA, City & County Inspectors) Experience with Quality Systems and Programs Experience with manufacturing safety concepts, applications, and committees. Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices, LEAN Manufacturing, 5's, World Class Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma. Team management/leadership/development skills, including the ability to manage people in an organization matrix and get the best out of them. Maturity, self-confidence, and effective communication skills. A multicultural approach to operating in a diverse business environment. Budget preparation and Cost analysis SAP knowledge preferred. Effectively communicate in Spanish and English both verbal and written (Required) Be able to walk long distances and to be on his/her feet for extended periods of time. Able to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold, and small areas.

Requirements
