About The Position

Plan, direct and coordinates production, ensuring and improving work flow performance, first time through productivity, process efficiency and profitability. Apply appropriate LEAN principals and processes to current systems. Requires ability to schedule and plan short and long term production runs using ERP and MRP tools. Coach, motivate, train and manage department employees to this end.

Requirements

  • ERP and MRP experience

  • Ability to read and interpret work from sketches, specifications, blueprints and job orders
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
  • Able to implement change and resolve conflicts.
  • Must be proficient with computers, Microsoft programs.
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Possess at least 5 years of hands on supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all standard safety practices, safety rules, and all Company rules and policies.
  • Plan and direct Fabrication activities and establishes production priorities while keeping effective operations, cost factors and company goals in mind.
  • Understand and apply Lean principals and methodology in a manufacturing environment with a fully integrated MRP computer system.
  • Sets and executes production schedules and priorities.
  • Know and communicate required inventory needs utilizing the MRP system.
  • Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems, reduce or eliminate scrap and improve product quality.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production issues.
  • Integrate production of new products to ensure their timely introduction into the marketplace.
  • Identify and suggest modification of machines and equipment in to improve production and quality.
  • Assess employee performance, provide constructive feedback to employees, and conduct performance reviews. Implement corrective and disciplinary action as warranted. Ensures appropriate training and development of employees.
  • Maintain effective communication with assembly and CNC supervisors and their employees to maintain a positive working environment and relationships.
  • Ability to handle sharp knives and other items continuously throughout the day.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Lead investigations and preform root cause analysis for issues arising in the area
  • Lead Kaizen events to improve quality, reduce scrap, increase FTT and other cost saving initiatives.
