About The Position
The Production Manager is responsible for leading all shop floor operations focusing on safety, quality, consistency and throughput in a custom architectural louver and metal products manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all products meet the stringent architectural, aesthetic, and performance standards for some of the most monumental commercial building projects in the nation.
Requirements
- 5-10+ years of manufacturing leadership, preferably within architectural metal, curtainwall or glazing systems, building envelope products.
- Strong knowledge of coating systems, preferable liquid paint systems / PVDF / Kynar
- Proven experience driving processes that produce high quality products and finishes.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with architectural louvers, sunshades, canopies, panels or facade systems
- Experience with incorporating automation
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
Responsibilities
- Own overall product quality from fabrication through shipment.
- Establish and enforce quality standards aligned with project specifications and visual acceptance criteria.
- Ensure compliance with AAMA standards for finishing
- Lead root cause analysis on defects.
- Drive reduction in rework
- Plan and manage daily production to meet delivery schedules and revenue targets
- Balance workflow across all manufacturing operations
- Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase throughput
- Ensure proper staffing and labor utilization across departments
- Coordinate with scheduling, engineering and project management teams.
- Lead supervisors, leads and production staff with a quality-first, craftsmanship-driven mindset
- Train team members on architectural quality expectations and process discipline
- Hold team accountable for safety, quality, and productivity metrics
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards.
- Maintain safe operation of all equipment
- Promote a strong safety culture across all departments
