Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access) and production-related reporting tools.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing systems, quality standards, and continuous improvement tools (5S, MDI, SOC, etc.).
  • Ability to make timely, effective decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to analyze production metrics, KPIs, and calculate yields, scrap rates, and efficiency ratios
  • Use data to evaluate process performance and support decision-making.
  • Proficiency with charts, graphs, and basic forecasting models preferred.
  • Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems using practical and creative solutions.
  • Interpret and apply company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Navigate dynamic plant environments and respond effectively to changing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, chemical/plastics engineering, operations management, or a related field, OR equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably within the plastics, blown film, and or printing/finishing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily plant operations and serve as a key partner to the Plant Manager in achieving strategic objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to frontline leaders and operational staff, with supervisory responsibilities defined by plant needs.
  • Act as a decision-maker for production adjustments, including machine settings, raw material changes, and real-time troubleshooting.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, food safety, and operational standards.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Drive implementation of lean systems such as 5S, MDI, SOC, RCP, and other waste-reduction tools.
  • Use data-driven decision-making to improve throughput, reduce defects, and enhance process efficiency.
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Training departments to align plant initiatives.
  • Partner with the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support workforce planning, talent development, and policy adherence.
  • Coach and mentor frontline leadership to build a high-performing team.
  • Provide feedback, set expectations, and assist with performance development and succession planning.
  • Support onboarding, cross-training, and ongoing skills development in collaboration with the Training team.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and high-engagement work culture
  • Take an active role in supporting employee retention initiatives and promoting team connectivity.
