The Production Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the packet value stream within our production environment. This includes day-to-day commitments covering the production floor, resource planning and production execution. The Production Manager ensures that their departments operate within budget and output targets to meet customer requirements and standards. Full accountability for ensuring safety, customer quality, cost and on time delivery requirements are met. This position reports to the Site Manager – Belen.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; with a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in GMP manufacturing environment required.
  • Ability to comprehend detailed written instructions and procedures required; with fluency in English required.
  • Must have strong math and reading comprehension skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellence in leadership, decision-making, problem solving, communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally with multiple managers and others; provide excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Prior experience within injection molding manufacturing is a must.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of a combination of disciplines relating to the formulation and manufacturing of colorants as related to a broad field of plastics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong positive team culture, in line with Colorcon’s six values.
  • Responsible for efficient, safe, and profitable utilization of equipment, materials, facilities, and personnel.
  • Provide general direction on the machinery for Packets production department.
  • Monitor and evaluate total operations to assure quality and quantity performance of products.
  • Ensure participation and compliance of all EHS and 6S policies and procedures.
  • Participate in customer audits, support internal audits, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Interface with management, sales, supply chain and customer service for total coordination of services for quality products, timely delivery and assure a profitable operation.
  • Responsible for maintaining and implementing budget control for respective departments.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies as related to production process, material, and staff.
  • Manage shift supervisors and ensure supervisors are accountable for all communication reaching the production floor in a timely manner.
  • Partner with HR to ensure departments are resourced appropriately to support business needs.
  • Responsible for the training and development of all operators to support production across all three production departments in accordance with business demands.
  • Issue the appropriate work order requests to the Technical Services department.
  • Maintain a cost control program for value streams, operations as directed.
  • Meet ISO guidelines and specifications.
  • Support other duties as assigned including continuous improvement projects.
