About The Position

The Production Maintenance Technician II will complete required PM's and perform repairs on the client's facility equipment as directed by the Site Leadership. This position will utilize a “flow to the work” concept. The successful Tech II will be an excellent communicator and have exceptional follow-up capabilities. The Tech II will exhibit an ownership attitude and willing to mentor those with less skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred or combination of experience and training.
  • 3 or more years mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry required, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
  • Valid driver's license, Fork truck operator's license, JLG operator's license.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions operating and maintenance instructions, and memos.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area. Demonstrate basic safe work practices based on company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Able to attend and pass certification and licensing classroom and practical training for rolling stock, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, etc.
  • Understand and utilize portable ladders and demonstrate proper selection of required fall protection devices.
  • Performs preventive maintenance activities on process equipment following written instructions.
  • Analyzes findings during PM and recommends changes to PM content based upon findings.
  • Documents PM activities within the CMMS.
  • Completes assigned work orders and documents completion within the CMMS.
  • Completes repairs including rebuilding of pumps, steam traps, valves, electrical and pneumatic solenoid devices.
  • Completes general repairs on process equipment.
  • Performs shift 'rounds' using a checklist to document performance characteristics of facility systems and equipment.
  • Communicates with the customer's operational leadership, site leadership or designee regarding work requests.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
