About The Position

As a Production Maintenance Technician IV at Pfizer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our manufacturing processes. Your expertise will be crucial in keeping all production and packaging machinery up and running, conducting preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, and performing specification checks. You will interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications, determining the sequence of operations and method of setup, as well as assessing the requirements for materials, parts, and equipment. Your breadth of knowledge and prior work experience will enable you to adapt standard methods and procedures, identify required delivery and process improvements, and drive increased efficiency, throughput, and quality. Your dedication and focus will help Pfizer achieve new milestones and make a significant impact on patients across the globe. In this role, you will perform maintenance, repair, complex troubleshooting, redesign, and enhancement of mechanical, electrical, and computerized systems. You will develop maintenance, PM, and calibration procedures, and serve as a leader and technical resource for technicians at various levels. You will be responsible for the operation of production equipment, performing routine and preventative maintenance, changeovers, adjustments, and repairs for both production and facility equipment.

Requirements

  • HS diploma with 6+ years of GMP manufacturing experience or an Associate's Degree in Science or Technology and 4+ years of GMP manufacturing experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic technique (as applicable).
  • Strong Root Cause Analysis skills and troubleshooting principles.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and have a problem-solving mindset.
  • Working knowledge of chemistry, filling, sterilization, and the filtration process.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and perform job duties as prescribed in the operating procedure.
  • Ability to confirm cleaned equipment meets the requirements of 'visually clean' and passing all critical process parameters.
  • Ability to work in a controlled temperature environment wearing clean room attire.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-4 years of relevant experience in a regulated pharmaceutical production setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing machine breakdowns promptly and skillfully.
  • Performing preventive maintenance and calibration of production and facility equipment without supervision.
  • Instructing other technicians and machine/process operators in the intricacies of assigned machinery and equipment.
  • Providing supervision to lower-level technicians and training other technicians in areas of specialization.
  • Making useful recommendations regarding improved machine performance and analyzing equipment efficiency.
  • Coordinating installation activities of new equipment with production and maintenance personnel.
  • Maintaining appropriate documentation such as preventive maintenance, calibration procedures, logbook entries, and work orders.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in areas such as AC/DC electrical theory, principles of HVAC and refrigeration, and mechanical components.
  • Managing own time and professional development, prioritizing workflow, and assisting in prioritizing the workflow of less-experienced colleagues.
  • Applying safety policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) knowledge in daily operations.
  • Sharing responsibility for root cause analysis to eliminate repeat performance issues.
