This position starts at $26.54 / hour plus $1/hour shift differential and offers a $4/hour perfect attendance bonus that is paid out weekly . . POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to pass a Prove It test
  • Two years’ experience in maintenance field preferred
  • Have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures
  • Flexibility to work weekends as needed
  • To perform this job successfully, applicant must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
  • Maintains accurate communication to other mechanics and departments.
  • Supports station mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment.
  • Effectively uses electrical testing equipment.
  • Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person.
  • Initiates and conducts routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain shop 6 s policies and cleanliness
  • Other duties as required.
