The Production Maintenance Coordinator (PMC) coordinates the daily activities between the Operations and Maintenance groups to ensure the safe, cost efficient, and environmentally sound execution of plant maintenance work. Ensures all types of approved work requests, including HSE, regulatory, quality, and reliability add value and are prioritized, planned, and scheduled ready for execution by the maintenance organization in the most cost-effective way. This role reviews the work requested for appropriate scope and justification and provides maintenance with the appropriate priorities based upon business needs, production needs and budget constraints. It is classified as a Safety Critical Role. Follow and be a role model demonstrating the Behavioral and Process Safety Principles and Life Saving Rules. Ensure assets are maintained to operate within their designed parameters and appropriate standards. Assure compliance with environmental permits and legal regulations. Complete all computer based safety training. Attend scheduled safety meetings. Develop schedules and detailed work order specifications and coordinates execution of work orders, change orders, inspections and repairs. Set up plant maintenance schedule, ensuring that materials, equipment and staff are available. Arrange for delivery and distribution of supplies and parts to expedite workflow and meet agreed schedules. Monitor priorities, backlogs, breakdowns, and other aspects affecting planned scheduling. Work with the cost center manager to manage unit maintenance costs by tracking / forecasting monthly spending and approving discretionary spending. Work with maintenance and operations personnel on daily basis to prioritize maintenance jobs in compliance with the site’s job prioritization matrix. Serves as the central communication/coordination hub for priority 1 jobs. Ensure that scope of work addresses all critical issues concerning production, maintenance and plant reliability while minimizing downtime For Complex and/or non-routine jobs not covered by SOP’s, create written operations plans that systematically outlines equipment preparation procedures, including necessary details. Provide key leadership for planning and execution of minor and major turnarounds; includes day-by-day work flow planning, ensuring schedule compliance, and coordination of post-turnaround audits to ensure improvements are incorporated into future turnaround strategies. Work with maintenance and operations to refine/optimize job plans for the efficient execution of all maintenance and RFC work. Attend daily/weekly planning and scheduling meetings and communicates information on equipment criticality, product scheduling requirements, outage opportunities, and any problems affecting quality or utility. Review the daily maintenance schedule to ensure that the scope of each job meets the plant needs. Ensure accountability for executing work per the schedule, by pointing out deficiencies/inefficiencies to operations and maintenance supervision in an honest and professional manner. Review all RFC packages issued from the technical group to understand the scope of the project, its intended objective, and any safety, environmental or operational implications; may call on other operational resources to review RFC before implementation. Proactively seek opportunities to improve existing work processes by updating procedures and or proposing and implementing better methods. Reliability & Cost Control. Other duties as assigned.
