About The Position
The Production Line Worker plays a crucial role in the food production process, ensuring that quality standards are met while maintaining efficiency and safety. This position involves working on a fast-paced production line, where the worker is responsible for the quality of food products and the documentation associated with food production. The worker must communicate effectively with team members regarding quality issues, identify potential problems, and work reliably with minimal supervision. Proficiency in one or more positions on the production line is required, excluding machine operator or mixer roles. The worker must be flexible with their schedule, as they may be required to work any shift and overtime hours as needed. In this role, the worker will be responsible for adhering to food safety protocols, including lot traceability and product inspection. They must notify management of any food safety issues and be empowered to act within their scope of work to resolve such issues. The worker will also be required to conform to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and accurately measure and prepare food ingredients used in mass production. Reading labels, recipes, and work orders in English is essential, as is an understanding of food allergens. Documentation is a key aspect of this position, as the worker must verify compliance with quality specifications and procedure checks for their assigned area. Safety is paramount, and the worker must ensure that all safety devices are operational and that safety procedures are followed. They will record production performance, counts, downtime, and other quality-related information as required. The worker will also be responsible for sanitation of line equipment and the surrounding environment, and may require cross-training on various line positions. Basic math skills are necessary for performing calculations related to production tasks, and effective communication with team members is essential for training and collaboration.
