About The Position

The Production Line Lead leads a group of 1-4 people to process a variety of dry food materials with a semi-automated food processing system. The environment may be loud, dusty, warm, cold, or smelly. This includes verifying line set up and awareness of quality and productivity drivers. Must lead and set a consistent pace for efficient productivity. Verify all components of a project are accurate and ready for each production order. Work with change-over techs and Material Handlers and line operators to calibrate the production line for each production order and perform in-process checks to confirm production meets specifications. Aid in assembling/disassembling equipment Share line set up, quality and/or filling specifications with line employees to ensure consistent adherence to specifications and standards so that we ship only excellent product Assist in training new leads and line employees. Take charge in meeting production goals/throughputs and report on progress Communicate shortcomings, challenges, needs, solutions Leading and operating production line (70-90% of time), changeover assistance (10-20% of time), misc (10-20% of time)

Requirements

  • Speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Ability and skill to identify areas of improvement in production processes and other areas
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic & mathematics
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 55 lb. repeatedly throughout the workday
  • Integrity and discipline to follow and enforce procedures for operation, safety, and quality
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing labor and/or warehouse labor
  • Skilled with mechanical equipment and tools
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and train other employees in a positive and constructive manner
  • High-school diploma or greater
  • 2+ years or more of manufacturing experience or similar
  • Forklift Certification with 1+ years of experience
  • Basic computer skills
