About The Position

Arising out of growth, our production line department leaders ensure that the production needs of our commercial customers are achieved. The Department Leader provides vital support for the assembly line, facility and service operations learning all production line operations to facilitate safe, responsible and efficient operations by their assigned production line employees. Aligned with Zone Employees and Zone Leaders the Department Leader will ensure safe and efficient production line operations. Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the Department Leader is a key member of the Production Line - Grill Cylinder team.

  • Attending safety and educational seminars including required training and certifications for safe operations.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills to speak with customers, vendors and other employees.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Routinely handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds and on occasion may be expected to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 75 pounds up to chest height.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to work first shift hours (8:00 AM to 5:30 PM Monday, Wednesday & Friday) and overtime when and as needed that may include Tuesdays and Thursdays from (12:00 PM to 8:30 PM).

Responsibilities

  • Production line start up and shut down of system at commencement and conclusion of shifts.
  • Directing Zone Leaders and Employees, ensuring optimum production.
  • Coordinating and supporting all facets of safe operations of the new Tank/Cylinder manufacturing platform.
  • Solving Level 1 technical issues.
  • Tracking daily production and utilizing manpower to meet daily production goals.
  • Reporting open and outstanding issues to plant supervisor daily.
  • Staff training and motivation in conjunction with plant supervisor.
  • Facility maintenance - keeping production floor clean and organized.
  • Ensuring compliance with PPE and safety rules and regulations.
  • Inventory and supply ordering as needed to ensure optimal production.
  • Performing other production line related duties as assigned.
