About The Position

The Production Line Lead at Third Street Inc. is responsible for overseeing the bottling activities in a small-batch manufacturing plant. This role involves coordinating line operators, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and maintaining production efficiency. The Lead will also train staff, manage equipment, and complete necessary documentation to support the production process.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in a food production environment.
  • 2+ years experience in personnel management.
  • Previous experience running and maintaining a bottling and brewing line preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on ability to facilitate repair of breakdowns and source needed parts.
  • High school completion or GED required.
  • Solid organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several people simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to obtain forklift and HACCP certification.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds regularly.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Spanish desired.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple stations on the bottling line including bottle loading, capping, labeling, coding, case packing, and palletizing.
  • Coordinate line operators to ensure coverage of all stations on the bottling line.
  • Rotate staff breaks and lunches as needed.
  • Assist with running production shifts and serve as backup to the production supervisor when necessary.
  • Complete beginning and end of shift activities such as setting up equipment, completing production, cleaning, changeovers, and paperwork.
  • Train temporary staff on safety rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety requirements, and relevant procedures.
  • Enforce and model all company policies and safety behaviors.
  • Support the execution and implementation of Food Safety programs.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all bottling line equipment as needed and on a preventive basis.
  • Lead timely and accurate line changeovers, cleaning, and sanitation of equipment according to the production schedule.
  • Complete documentation related to the manufacturing process including bottling and batching records, CIP records, and sanitation documents.
  • Participate in monthly inventory physical counts and liaise with accounting to resolve discrepancies.
