The Line Leader will coordinate employee activities and product handling of an assigned production line to ensure maximum line efficiencies under our quality and food safety standards. This position involves working closely with line employees and receiving instructions from the Production Supervisor/Shift Lead for product orders that need to be processed. The Line Leader is responsible for organizing the line crew to effectively process orders, ensuring timely line starts, and maintaining communication with the Supervisor regarding production or staff-related issues. Additionally, the role includes setting up equipment, performing routine adjustments, training on safety procedures, and maintaining a clean work area.

  • Coordinate employee activities and product handling of an assigned production line; works along with line employees
  • Receive instruction from the Production Supervisor/Shift Lead for product orders that need to be processed
  • Organize line crew to effectively process orders received, ensuring a timely line start daily
  • Order product and packaging materials from the material handler in an organized manner to ensure maximum line efficiencies
  • Prioritize order processing in relation to shipping requirements and production schedules
  • Set up fillers, coders, scales, case sealers, and all other equipment required prior to each production run
  • Perform routine adjustments and troubleshoot equipment as needed during each production run
  • Train LOTO procedure on certified lines
  • Report all production activities for assigned lines into the EC, M3, or paper forms
  • Complete all required HACCP and quality paperwork daily
  • Maintain communication with the Supervisor on any production or staff-related issues
  • Ensure all line employees safely operate equipment used on the line, as well as follow all safety procedures
  • Cross-train line employees on any other lines assigned at any given time
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Conduct allergen and line changeover
  • Complete Win the Day Boards
  • Report line inefficiencies and hand off meeting with incoming shift
  • Drive safety and quality mindset daily
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Prefer High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Machine operator experience preferred
  • Must have a working knowledge of general warehouse operations; food industry experience a plus
  • Must be flexible with hours, possibility for OT
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Must follow all WG GMPs and work consistently with all food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated good leadership skills
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural documents
