We are looking for a Production Lead to join our Machine Room team. In this role, you will be mentoring and coaching employees working in the specific area of responsibility (whether it be bindery, fabricating, cutting, or kitting). The Production Lead trains new and existing employees on the most efficient and effective methods of machine set-up and process flow. You will have the opportunity to learn new equipment, first, and as the subject matter expert, will then train and evaluate the work of the other team members. This position will not, however, have management responsibilities for the team members such as hiring, firing, or completing performance reviews. You will, however, provide feedback to the manager as to how well the team members are learning the necessary skills required of the team roles. This role is a working lead role, and as a result, it will be necessary for the lead to also complete the applicable work on the job ticket and follow and adhere to the specific job requirements. You will be responsible for the last quality check before shipment to TBG/SmartPress customers and is the key liaison with the CSR and managers to ensure the job is completed successfully within the customers’ parameters.

  • drive improvements in material flow, including cell design and material delivery
  • interact with other support departments as required, driving out costs where possible
  • complete and quality check each job according to ticket specifications, producing quality work
  • learn existing equipment and train and learn on new equipment
  • troubleshoot production problems to ensure productivity and quality standards are met
  • put away stock on shelves, break down boxes and clean up after shift
  • troubleshoot and remedy programming issues as needed to ensure minimal downtime on the machines
  • conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytics and problem solving
  • perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by management
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • be able to apply manual dexterity and visual acuity for cutting equipment and computer keyboarding use and to review detailed reports, instructions, print materials, and information
  • able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills including, demonstrated listening skills and the ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively both internally and outside the organization

  • Preferred 3 years experience in CNC routing
  • OSHA 10 Hour certification a plus
