About The Position

The Lettershop Lead Operator is responsible for overseeing and executing tasks necessary to ensure a successful shift, with a focus on maximizing production output and adhering to company policies and procedures. This role requires teamwork, leadership, and the ability to identify production needs, implement solutions, and foster a team environment. The Lead Operator will support operational standards, mentor team members, and promote a safe and productive work environment

Requirements

  • Two or more years of experience working in a Lettershop Machine Operator role or proven Team Lead experience in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of experience in a print shop or mail industry preferred but not required
  • Conversational English and Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Staff and operate machines according to production priorities and schedules.
  • Ensure materials and job instructions are prepared and available at the machines; pull materials for upcoming jobs.
  • Respond promptly to all machine alerts and lights to facilitate Material Handlers in removing finished pallets.
  • Monitor and enforce quality control procedures, ensuring production goals are achieved.
  • Assist in resolving material issues and report defective or problematic materials.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment; promptly report unsafe conditions to management.
  • Lead the shift during overtime days, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Locate and pull RTMs (Request to Move).
  • Verify that all machines have the necessary job instructions, tray tags, and pallet flags; print and prepare these as needed.
  • Ensure machines are stocked and ready for the next shift to maintain continuous production.
  • Support new employees, fostering a productive onboarding experience.
  • Follow established procedures and safety protocols, working within all company safety standards, rules, and protocols
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned
  • Time management and scheduling in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Production and Processing —raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing efficiency.
  • Mechanical Knowledge - print machines and tools.
  • Reliability and dependability.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, along with conflict resolution
  • Adaptable and flexible with ever-changing priorities
