About The Position

POSITION PURPOSE: This role accelerates business values by supporting the Processing Supervisor in all duties and take charge of department in absence of processing supervisor. Demonstrates our “True North” attributes: voice of the customer, respect for the individual, no nonsense communication and utilization of facts, servant leadership and has a continuous improvement mindset in every facet of leadership and daily interaction. Leads, collaborates and demonstrates the lean principles and utilizes the lean methodologies and tools to facilitate continuous process improvements and value creation for our customers, employees and shareholders. Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Ability to work in an unfatigued state
Ability to accurately gauge lengths of time and distance
Ability to quickly store and recall instructions in one’s short term memory
Ability to concentrate and perform tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment

Possess fast reflexes and unimpaired coordination and ability to rapidly respond to stimuli

Ability to take prompt and appropriate response to operating conditions
Experience in processing type environment, some supervisory skills and mechanical aptitude required.
Must be able to count and to complete paperwork as needed.
Previous forklift driving in warehouse atmosphere required.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Requires good manual dexterity.
Must work in areas with forklifts in operation and around machinery with moving parts.

Responsibilities

Monitor all equipment on a daily basis.
Responsible for maintenance and repair on bagging equipment.
Assist Plant Engineer as necessary.
Conduct preventative maintenance program on all equipment in processing.
Help monitor product quantity and quality by reporting any problems to processing supervisor.
Keep area safe and report any potential safety hazards.
Record keeping of daily production along with cleaning records.
Work with Plant Engineer on scheduling of production staff.
Primary Forklift operator
Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.
