About The Position

Reporting to the Packaging Manager, the Lead Operator is responsible for the output of a small team of operators, maintaining consistent production and quality standards, keeping filling machines and labeling machines running smoothly to ensure on-time delivery of product, and working directly with Packaging Supervisor and Manager to ensure the most efficient and productive use of time and materials.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Experience leading a team in a production environment
Highly organized, self-motivated, and goal and deadline-driven
Ability to multi-task and move quickly to keep the production line moving
Good hand eye coordination and manual dexterity are mandatory
Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
Good people skills with the ability to motivate a team and maintain high morale
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to relay necessary information to those up and down the chain of command

Nice To Haves

Background in production assembly, cosmetics or other CPG production preferred

Responsibilities

Lead a small team to fill, label, batch, clean, and box products, both using machinery and manually. This includes loading/unloading production components, feeding the machine with components, manipulating components at different locations throughout the machine, and other tasks as needed
Monitor, review, and complete necessary paperwork such as batch record, fill sheet, component request forms, and finite schedule.
Manage operator rest periods and breaks
Record tardies, absences, etc
Provide hands-on training and encouragement to line members
Oversee and assist with machine and area set up and break down/close
Troubleshoot issues with machinery or equipment; escalate to engineering and/or supervisor if necessary
Ensure line-wide adherence to best practices, company policies, and cGMP and ISO regulation
Perform Line Clearance for your line
Support Packaging Supervisor, Packaging Manager, and others as needed
Other duties as assigned
