About The Position

The Team Lead will oversee pre-op and/or tear down depending on the shift. This role involves coordinating line set-up, reviewing production issues, production schedule orders, and product specifications. The Team Lead will work with other departments to prevent downtime and lead continuous improvement plant-wide. Responsibilities include assigning personnel to work stations, providing associate training, and recommending corrective actions for non-compliance to the supervisor. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and line workers. The Team Lead is responsible for specification compliance, documentation, and legible record-keeping for the line, including lot tracking, waste, quality checks, product usage, production, and standards. The role also requires basic math skills, data entry into computer programs, and attention to detail. The Team Lead must be able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production reports. This position is expected to eventually cross-train in all lead areas related to production and packaging and must work safely at all times, spending 95% of the shift on the floor. Flexibility in scheduling is required, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three to six months related work experience and/or training.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English; bilingual capability is a plus.
