About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Fabrication Lead to join our team. You will be responsible for mentoring and coaching employees working in the specific area of responsibility (whether it be bindery, fabricating, cutting, or kitting). You will train new and existing employees on the most efficient and effective methods of machine set-up and process flow. You will have the opportunity to learn new equipment, first, and as the subject matter expert, will then train and evaluate the work of the other team members. This position will not, however, have management responsibilities for the team members such as hiring, firing, or completing performance reviews. This role will, however, provide feedback to the manager as to how well the team members are learning the necessary skills required of the team roles. This role is a working lead role, and as a result, it will be necessary for the lead to also complete the applicable work on the job ticket and follow and adhere to the specific job requirements. You are also responsible for the last quality check before shipment to TBG/SmartPress customers and is the key liaison with the CSR and managers to ensure the job is completed successfully within the customers’ parameters. Shift available: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Requirements

  • a high school diploma or GED
  • the ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • possess a thorough and organized approach to your work

  • have basic computer skills, including Pace and Google Suite
  • be self-motivated, a fast learner, and show initiative to seek out customer and corporate needs
  • plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage your work
  • complete projects accurately within deadlines, while meeting Company quality standards
  • apply effective time management and self-management skills
  • understand and maintain the confidential nature of company, employee and customer information
  • be able to quickly move from one project to another while dealing with stressful deadlines

  • able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills including, demonstrated listening skills and the ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively both internally and outside the organization

Responsibilities

  • lead and direct a team of peers and temporary staffing with clear communication and direction
  • evaluate workflows to create work standards while creating efficient and effective processes
  • use various fabrication techniques to assemble the product accurately
  • maintain specifications by observing operations, detecting malfunctions and troubleshooting processes
  • perform Quality Control (QC) procedures to meet Company standards
  • assist with training and development of our employees and temporary workforce
