This position reports to the Production Supervisor, and is an integral part of the production team in ensuring efficiency, adherence to production schedule, employee training, and product quality. Assists in coordinating all aspects of the packaging department for the cuts and mashed potato lines. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees processing/packaging operations to ensure daily production goals are met.
  • Works closely with other operations staff, such as Processing, Maintenance, QA, R&D, and Shipping/Receiving to troubleshoot and resolve any production-related delays.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiencies and reduce production costs.
  • Supports all company safety programs and ensures a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Coordinate and execute employee training to ensure production procedures are followed.
  • Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner.
  • Report all food safety and human safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-year degree, and/or 2-4 years related experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Database software, Inventory software, Manufacturing software, Order processing systems, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
