About The Position
Mueller Corporation is seeking a dedicated Production Lead for the 2nd shift, which runs from 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, Monday to Friday, at our facility located in East Bridgewater, MA. As a coatings application job shop, we pride ourselves on providing a clean, climate-controlled, and safe working environment for our employees. The Production Lead will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall safety and wellbeing of production workers, addressing any near misses or safety issues that arise, and ensuring proper documentation is maintained. This position requires close collaboration with Human Resources in the event of any incidents, emphasizing our commitment to a safe workplace. In this role, the Production Lead will be responsible for preparing tracking sheets, coordinating the start of production cycles per purchase order (PO), and ensuring tooling readiness. Daily attendance of staff will be taken, and the Lead will work with the UV team to address any staffing needs to maintain efficient line operations. Assigning labor to properly trained production staff and following up on job progress will be key responsibilities. The Lead will also address any quality or safety issues as they occur, ensuring that all production cycles are checked and signed off according to detailed work instructions and job travelers. The Production Lead will verify packed counts during production and ensure that all tracking sheets are accurately filled out. Monitoring labor target shortages by employee will help identify underperformance, and the Lead will work with the Manufacturing Supervisor to correct any issues. Additionally, the Lead will label finished production and alert Quality Assurance (QA) for checks before products are moved to the shipping shelf or warehouse. Managing the raw material area for organization and identification, as well as coordinating with warehouse and planning for deliveries, will also be part of the role. Overall, the Production Lead will monitor the cleanliness and organization of the production floor and instruct the team to improve daily operations. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
