THE JOB- PRODUCTION INTERN Are you looking for an exciting internship experience? Our paid Internship Program provides real-world experience for students who are interested in the live entertainment industry. After finishing this program, you will have gained broad experience in various aspects live entertainment business. You can also expect to apply your academic learning to real-world situations and cultivate your leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. This is a part-time position, up to 40 hours per week. As a Production Intern in Boston, you will shadow production managers at all venue levels—from clubs and theaters to arenas and stadiums. You’ll have the opportunity to experience the entire process, from the first call to advance show details through load-in, doors, show time, and load-out. This position requires flexibility. Interns must be willing to work nights and weekends, as show days can be long—often 10 hours in clubs and up to 16 hours in arenas. While it’s not required to work every hour, the benefit of experiencing a show from start to finish is best achieved when you can manage those extended hours. This internship offers a hands-on experience in an exciting, fast-paced concert production environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited College or University; Preferably in a field related to the internship you are applying for
  • Recent Graduate, Junior or Senior standing
  • Due to the nature of the position, candidates must be at least 18 years of age
  • Flexibility and stamina to work long hours when needed, including nights and weekends. Show days can be demanding, and the ability to manage extended hours is key to experiencing the full production process.
  • Knowledge and interest in the music industry and live event production.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Proactive and action-oriented approach.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of live event production is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist production managers during all phases of event execution, including advancing, load-in, show, and load-out.
  • Support the Production Managers and the Production Department with day-to-day show tasks.
  • Observe and learn venue operations across different scales (clubs, theaters, arenas, stadiums).
  • Experience problem-solving in a fast-paced, live-event setting.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative environment within the Production Department.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Director of Production.
  • Attend production meetings as outlined by the Director of Production.
  • Learn expense and cost management for the Production Department and shows.
  • Contribute to advancing, costing, and producing shows.
  • Gain knowledge of all Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
  • Be onsite for engagements as scheduled to assist the Production Department.
  • A final project is required at the end of the internship consisting of a summary of what you learned and creating your own method of advancing shows.
