WE BELIEVE IN THE TRANSFORMATIONAL POWER OF COMFORT Job Summary: Provide support to Production, Continuous Improvement and other functions as needed in the form of audits, measurement of parts, inspections, performing gage studies, process capability studies and related activities.

Requirements

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the above duties.
  • Excellent attendance – must maintain less than 2 attendance points
  • Two years of experience in validation processes, upholstery or equivalent experience.
  • Certification to CQAP level one competence.
  • Color vision.
  • Basic computer skills – Beginner level proficiency with Excel data entry, table construction, basic formula entry, graphing – Ability to access drawings, specifications and all required information and documentation shop floor – Ability to enter data into Access and generate reports.
  • Basic math skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios. Basic algebra preferred.
  • Strong leadership traits must be evident with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Print reading skills – ability to interpret various graphs and other statistical data - understand histograms, run charts – Statistics including Min, Mean, Max, Standard Deviation.
  • Data analysis skills (collecting and reporting).
  • Must understand how to utilize various measuring tools (tape measure, caliper, etc.)
  • Specifications (must be able to identify or locate and know how to use them)

Responsibilities

  • Audit specifications to ensure product requirements are met.
  • Auditors must form a partnership with team members and trainers to ensure specification compliance.
  • Review the product to ensure appearance specifications are maintained as detailed by the upholstery, sub-upholstery, cutting, sewing, and general tailoring standards.
  • Check the shipping label to ensure all options, as specified, are present.
  • Support cell coaches in the development of corrective action of process measures.
  • Conduct PIA assessments for cell teams.
  • Assist to facilitate any engineering changes in specific style construction.
  • Record and distribute assessment findings.
  • Identify needs within the work team to include additional training, jig fixturing, jig repairs, or general maintenance issues.
  • Present information to various groups on occasion (Quality meetings, etc.)
  • Follows health and safety standards.
  • Maintains a clean workstation and production floor.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
