The Production Inspector I at Benchmark Electronics is responsible for performing routine visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections of printed circuit boards, systems, and sub-assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards. This entry-level position emphasizes attention to detail and adherence to established processes while contributing to a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

  • Works from detailed Process Sheets, Visual Aid Packages, Engineering Change Orders, Production Change Notices, and other relevant written instructions.
  • Inspects for proper positioning of components, soldering, markings, and other quality requirements related to various manufacturing technologies.
  • Obtains the appropriate paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment and verifies the paperwork as the correct effective date.
  • Verifies placement, polarity, and labels on circuit boards.
  • Uses Defect Code List to identify defects and route boards to rework/repair facilities.
  • Performs minimal rework/repair duties as necessary.
  • Completes necessary routing tasks per procedure.
  • Enters board and/or systems quantities into the Baan ERP system.
  • Inputs data into PFS.
  • Performs duties under close supervision and checks configuration on all assemblies.
  • Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, management, and support engineering as appropriate.
  • Follows and maintains accurate process documentation and recommends improvements.
  • Complies with and follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience in basic electronics manufacturing
  • Strong customer service and client focus
