About The Position

The Production Innovation Center Manager is accountable for the productive, efficient management of the Innovation Center operations. Oversee the manufacturing, performance, assembly, and quality of manufacturing materials for field installation. Oversee the development, process design, and implementation of cost control. Responsible to investigate and implement leading edge processes and create strategies to improve productivity and efficiency. Ensures the Innovation Center runs smoothly, quickly, efficiently, and safely. Additionally, the manager is accountable for delivering manufacturing projects within budget and achieving targeted labor hours in alignment with the company’s business plan.

Requirements

  • Proficient Spectrum user for approval of invoices, billed job cost, reports, project history, and review of purchase order history
  • Cultivates new business relationships and maintains existing relationships with clients
  • Maintains appropriate records, files, documentation, etc.
  • High level of interpersonal relationship skills
  • Proficiency in communication skills, organizational skills, and highly computer literate (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Spectrum)
  • Meets safe operating standards required by the Company, state and federal laws as per vehicles, chemicals and manufacturing, as well as keeping the facility clean
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing management, Business, or equivalent experience, preferred
  • Five or more years’ leadership experience

  • Six Sigma or LEAN management experience, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages the manufacturing center and operations
  • Efficient management of department resources, manages the craft head count and hours including labor, schedules, subcontract labor, equipment storage, chemical storage, manages purchasing, control of inventory, all deliveries, and material logistics
  • Meets safe operating standards required by the Company, state and federal laws as per vehicles, chemicals and manufacturing, as well as keeping the facility clean
  • Manages and instills incident free safe work practices
  • Works directly with operation teams and the team’s field management staff
  • Interacts with customers, owners, owner representatives, architects, engineers, trade contractors, vendors, drivers, and others who are associated with the construction of the project(s)
  • Collaborates with innovation center and corporate leaders to help assess resource requirements
  • Works with project teams to best strategize resources and clear obstacles
  • Conducts monthly innovation center reviews with corporate
  • Develops and implements processes that meet all safety and regulatory requirements
  • Oversees implementation of new innovation center methods or processes
  • Creates processes and procedures to create efficiencies
  • Initiates, attends, coordinates, and/or conducts meetings as required to meet the project objectives
  • Applies general trade knowledge to electrical work both technically and procedurally
  • Creates and administers consistent methods of scheduling, delegation, and monitoring
  • Monitors and communicates the overall progress on projects
  • Tracks monthly financials of the prefabrication center
  • Takes field calls and assists project supervisors/managers with cost saving manufacturing ideas
  • Development of “as-is” process map: All touchpoints from beginning to end (manufacturing to field); Key stakeholders input; Understanding value add vs. non-value add
  • Development of “to-be” process map: Ensures new plan meets growth targets; Provide direction and structure to improvement projects
  • Oversees design, layouts, and ordering of materials to effectively produce products to meet project schedules
  • Exhibits ability to review and comprehend a set of project documents and drawings to accurately produce construction product
  • Monitors progress of assigned projects as well as monitors subcontractors estimated and actual status, field personnel alignment, scheduling, and payables and receivable balances in order to facilitate weekly action plans
  • Manages the selection, development, measurement, motivation, and cooperation of the manufacturing staff
  • Takes disciplinary action toward subordinates consistent with Company policies and procedures
  • Accountable for on-site management/safety of assigned manufacturing construction projects and field personnel
  • Cultivates working relationships with managers, supervisors, and customer/clients encouraging a cooperative environment
  • Documents project/work situations, both written and verbally, in an accurate and timely manner to ensure the company a means of protection through proper documentation
  • Leads, motivates, coaches, and develops assigned employees' technical skills by giving accurate and non-biased job performance appraisals
  • Teaches and develops high school students, interns and apprentices
  • Oversees employee payroll and time allocation
  • Creates and implements the best practice for logistical plans on projects
  • Embeds measuring tools of success
  • Communication of the expected accountability
  • Ensures performance of safety audits
