We’re looking to expand our team across the board. We are seeking a motivated, energetic and experienced Production & Industrial Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to a team of engineers, lead development of production processes and drive process improvements in the assembly, test and integration of space vehicles. This is a highly collaborative role supporting production operations, planning and sourcing of hardware and industrialization of new space vehicle programs. This role will drive adoption of production standard work, mistake proofing, setup reduction and introduction of appropriate technologies to drive shop productivity, safety and quality.   • Manage and mentor a team of Production and Industrial Engineers, setting performance goals, conducting reviews, and fostering a culture of innovation, problem-solving and accountability.
  • Collaborate with design engineering teams for timely creation, implementation and maintenance of robust production processes, work instructions, and tooling for complex assemblies and drive industrialization in consultation with stakeholders in production, materials, quality and test.
  • Lead team in providing timely floor support to production including addressing questions, non-conformances, process deviations and engineering changes.
  • Manage bill of materials (BOMs) within an ERP environment, coordinate changes with design engineering, ensure build configuration control, provide guidance on change effectivity and industrialization.
  • Serve as the technical representative for Supply Chain teams in the New Product Introduction (NPI) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) phases, collaborating with design engineering to ensure new product designs are optimized for cost, quality, and manufacturability before production launch.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen. Conduct Value Stream Mapping to identify and eliminate waste (time, materials, motion, etc.) across the production value chain. Optimize cell layout, material flow, and capacity utilization for assembly operations.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) by performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing sustainable corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
  • Support long-term planning of production capacity, equipment needs, and facility layouts to support business growth and new product introduction (NPI) pipelines.
  • Develop and manage the department's operating budget and justify capital expenditure requests for new equipment, advanced automation, and productivity tools.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 15+ years of professional experience with at least 5 years of leadership experience in a complex engineered product manufacturing environment.
  • Strong decision-making ability in fast-paced production environments.
  • Coaching, performance management, and talent development skills with demonstrated ability in building a positive, continuous-improvement-oriented culture.

  • Proven expertise in Lean principles, Six Sigma methodology (Black Belt certification is highly desirable).
