About The Position

Reporting to the Graphics Manager, The Graphics Specialist takes the file from customer submission to printed can. They are responsible for the preparation, production, and optimization of digital artwork to ensure high-quality output. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, supporting customers by optimizing their design and suggesting improvement as well as providing expertise in design support for a variety of print and creative projects. This position demands a keen eye for detail, a passion for quality control, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This role is made for you if : You have a natural talent for production design (specifically technical); You have an understanding of digital print or wide format; You understand color theory and color matching; You are curious and love troubleshooting problems through to resolution; You are able to follow process steps; You have the ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment;

Requirements

  • 2-5 yrs experience in prepress or graphic design
  • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Hybrid PackZ or other .pdf editing software.
  • Experience with RIP software and ability to pick up new softwares
  • Ability to edit colors within a digital environment to ensure color accuracy is maintained throughout the production process
  • Strong sense for workflows and process organization
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for quality control
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines

  • Understanding for the basics in color theory is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Proofing and troubleshooting digital files
  • Set-up production files using Adobe and Hybrid software products
  • Using RIP software and prepress programs to match and color-correct files according to customer needs
  • Troubleshoot artworks for better print results
  • Provide design support expertise
  • Ensure proper quality control using color measuring devices.
  • Coordinate the production of our sample cycles
  • Assist with research and development initiatives to improve print quality
  • Collaborate in special cross-functional projects
