About The Position

Reporting into the Production Supervisor, the part-time General Laborer will be based out of Baltimore, MD and will be responsible for supporting daily production operations within a unionized chemical manufacturing environment. This role will focus on assisting with performing general laborer tasks, material handling, equipment support, housekeeping, and basic production tasks to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality operation. The General Laborer will follow established safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and quality guidelines while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Forklift experience or certification is preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and ability to operate machinery safely.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, respirators, and steel-toe boots.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a chemical operator, mechanic, or heavy equipment operator is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist production operators with material handling, loading, and unloading raw materials and finished goods.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area by sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste materials properly.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Handle and utilize proper packaging supplies for finished products.
  • Perform routine quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness in production and storage areas.
  • Return materials to designated storage locations and organize work areas efficiently.
  • Support production staff with equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to maintain an efficient operation.
